Abstract

The editorial team of the IJIMDS has the pleasure to bring the first issue of the International Journal of Intelligent Management and Data Systems to the academics and researchers. IJIMDS, as a peer-reviewed gold OA journal, is dedicated to promoting high quality scholarly and empirical research and science that contribute to the field knowledge about intelligent management, decision systems and related domains. In the age of digital disruption and decision-making in data-rich environments, our journal intends to be a rigorous and practice-relevant bridge involving academic theory and organizational practice grounded in the use of smart technologies and analytics. The rise of artificial intelligence, big data, and digital transformation has changed the nature of management and the decision-making process in organisations. Responding to this change in focus, our journal encourages interdisciplinary submissions, focussing on work with a rigorous method as well as insightful according practical guidelines. We are particularly interested in studies with strong analytical approaches, sturdy empirical designs and evident applied implications. Whether it's examining the impact of an AI-assisted decision support system or the unique design of a data governance model, IJIMDS aims to honor studies that substantially inform organizational efficiency, strategic agility, and innovation. Our reach is wide but defined. We welcome original research, literature reviews, and case studies in a wide range of research topics including data management and analytics, digital transformation, AI in information systems, decision support systems and strategic management. We also invite papers that investigate human and societal aspects of information use including behavioral economics, sustainability, and ethical issues in AI. It is the aim of IJIMDS to become a focal point for comprehensive, visionary investigations that consider the technical solutions as well as social and economic and organisational aspects. We also hold the view that "Good research should not be bouund to theory." IJIMDS appreciates submissions that provide meaningful insights along with recommendations for practitioners, policy makers and technology managers. We don’t just aim to publish research of the highest academic calibre; we want to change the world by bringing discoveries in the form of ICT products into both industry and society at large. In this way we interweave theory and application in order to contribute to a constructive dialogue between academia and industry.
